Pink Sangria

The August heat isn’t the only thing making me sweaty these days, but fortunately, there are drinks to remedy that problem! I recently came across this recipe for “Pink Picnic Sangria” on Pinterest (finally, I can add another venture to THAT category on this blog) and decided to try it out.

I was in search of a drink recipe that would use up the massive bag of pink wine that is a leftover from our Bonnaroo trip back in June. A big batch of spiked sangria sounded like the perfect way to use that baby up, once and for all.

Ingredients:

Blush or Rose Wine – Mine was the super cheap, Peter Vella boxed wine and used about 1 bottle’s worth

1 cup Vodka

1 Lemon and 1 Lime, sliced in thin moons or wedges

1 cup Grapefruit Juice

Soda water – as much or as little as you like

Ice – also a matter of preference.

The nice thing about making sangria is that it’s so easy, any person who understands the concept of combining things in a container can do it. Simply mix all those bad boys together and there you have it! A fruity, sweet summery drink that is a great way to use up the blush wine that you regret purchasing in the first place!!
